We begin our process with a (free) initial consultation. This is necessary to determine if the business model is ready to begin franchising. If franchising is a viable expansion option, we will present a contract to begin the Foundation Phase aka "Strategic Planning". This is a 2-week contract. This service is provided on a weekly basis. After the preliminary analysis is delivered, which includes initial diagnostic analysis, founder interviews, and initial business model assessment (week 1), you decide if we complete the detailed and strategic franchise development outline (week-2).
During the Foundation Phase, we learn about your business model and the organizational assets you company currently utilizes - the training tools, guides, processes, and software systems. We learn about your business coaching culture to properly determine your development structure. It is during this phase that we obtain the necessary information to prepare the process outlines, services costs schedules, and a general timeline schedules for our development agreement. It is during this phase that we begin to learn your goals and objectives. Together, we determine the range of services you seek from us to achieve your expansion objectives. Upon completing Phase 1, you can decide how to proceed. You may authorize us to move forward or choose to cancel the contract with no further obligation.
Franchising your business involves a range of strategic, operational, and financial considerations—especially if you're new to the process. At a minimum, you’ll need to form new legal entities, develop a comprehensive operations manual, and prepare a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). These foundational elements are essential, but on their own, they are not enough to support a successful franchise system.
To build a franchise model that actually works in practice—not just on paper—you’ll need structured onboarding and coaching programs, systems to collect royalties, infrastructure to support ongoing franchisee performance, and a clearly defined marketing strategy to attract both new customers and qualified franchise candidates. Without these critical components, even a well-drafted FDD or manual can lead to misaligned expectations, underperforming operators, and brand inconsistency.
Equally critical is the process of selecting the right franchise partners. Your long-term success depends on aligning with operators who share your values, follow brand standards, and are committed to sustainable growth.
Franchising also requires balancing short-term investments in leadership, governance, and franchisee satisfaction with the long-term risks of underdeveloped systems. Inadequate preparation can lead to inconsistent operations, franchisee failures, and damage to your brand reputation.
To support your success, IQ Franchising emphasizes strategic cost-efficiency. Our flexible pricing models and phased engagement structure are designed to minimize unnecessary overhead while accelerating time to market—saving you both time and money.
